Apco Vista Large

by Terry Butcher
(Kamloops B.C.)

I am a novice pilot here in British Columbia. I purchased an Apco Vista L this spring. I have to say I have found it to be a great wing. I have gotten about 25 flights on it here in the desert and in the Okanagan. It handles very well.

Our regular site is a mountain burnt by fire and the thermals are ratty. This wing has taken me to 9000ft with ease.

High in the Sky with APCO
by: Dave

On the same subject, I have taken an APCO test flight of the older TETRA school glider a couple of years ago in Merlo San Luis in Argentina. Easily went up to 3200 meters, but the summer clothing was not enough so I had to spiral down to 1300 after some 15 min. Great wings!

9000 feet
by: Tim P.

Thanks for the contribution Terry. Nice to be in an area where altitudes like 9000 ft+ are possible eh? Woolly jumper or flight-suit territory!

I remember years ago in Central Australia, 9000 feet was fairly routine on a 'good Summer day'. Often in blue conditions. I was flying sailplanes back then.
