Yes

Yes, it's very abnormal to feel queezy on your first flight. In fact, you are the only person to have ever felt this way. No one has ever looked at the thin little lines and webbing and thought "What the hell am I doing up here?! I must be nuts!"

On the other hand, in spite of the in-flight movies, being enveloped in a sturdy fuselage, and flight attendants saying "in the event of a water landing...." people are terrified by commercial aviation. All they can think of is that they are traveling in a tube of kerosene maintained by underpaid mechanics who hate their jobs and partied all night before servicing the aircraft.

Strange, but true!

Yes that's right. A great guy called Dino behind me, explaining all about how to find thermals and how, a few days before, he flew alongside an eagle!

Tandem?
by: Tim P.

Thanks for the nice foot-shot Matt. I'm guessing you were on your first paragliding flight, tandem with another pilot. Next time, it will just be pure fun!
